Who we are

High Desert Backyard Greens was built on a lifetime of golf course experience.

Growing up under the guidance of a golf course superintendent father, our owner began working on the course at just 12 years old. By 24, he had spent over a decade learning turf management from the ground up—eventually becoming superintendent at the same course where it all began. After more than 18 years there, he stepped away at 30 to bring that expertise to Central Oregon.

Since relocating to Bend, his experience has included serving as Assistant Superintendent at Sunriver Meadows and Woodlands, also contributing as an assistant mechanic at Pronghorn, and working as a foreman on high-profile public projects including the Sisters Roundabout, Centennial Park in Redmond, and numerous municipal and private landscape installations throughout Central Oregon.

Today, that deep background is focused on delivering high-end, precisely maintained landscapes and true bentgrass putting greens. Every putting green is built to USGA specifications and maintained to USGA standards, ensuring consistent performance, true roll, and long-term quality. Greens are tuned to roll at a consistent speed tailored to your preference, using the same methods found on professional golf courses.
